The Sparkle and Strife of Pop Stardom Rebel Wilson's "Girl Group" is the latest addition to Hollywood's genre of music themed movies, but unlike some of its predecessors, it doesn't seem to have much on its mind beyond sparkly merriment and feel good vibes.
On the surface, the film appears to be a lighthearted comedy about misfits competing in a music competition.
However, scratch beneath the glitz and glamour, and you'll find that "Girl Group" is primarily focused on Tassie (Wilson), a washed up pop star struggling to revive her career.
